Chalet McKinley is one of the larger chalet apartments, sleeping 12 guests, on the second floor of this convenient residence. The main entrance, at road level, is on the fourth floor, with apartments above and below, as a result of the residence being constructed into the hillside.

The interior style is attractive, with traditional Alpine style evident in the warm wood panelling and carved decorative touches in the living/dining area, which has a fireplace, TV/DVD and a balcony to appreciate the views of the surrounding valley and peaks. This room forms the hub of the property, with three bedrooms to each side of the living area, most of which also have a balcony too.

A simple button lift, only 100m from the Altitude residence’s main entrance, gives quick access to the pistes and superb lift system which links up all the sections which comprise Les Arcs. It’s also a breeze to return each day as skiers arrive back to within 1-minute’s walk from this same point.

In addition all guests have use of the indoor swimming-pool, the shared sauna, ski lockers, ski room, underground parking and lifts all nine floors as well as a convenient bar to quench your après-ski thirst!

The childcare rooms are in a neighbouring residence, the Chalets de L’Ours, and can be reached via an underground connecting passage. Children in our childcare programme will use Chalet McKinley, Chalet Monte Bianco and Chalet Olympus at lunchtime.

Meals:

Breakfast – is served buffet-style with a selection of cold options including a choice of cereals or porridge, cold meats, cheese and preserves, bread (and croissants in France), fruit juices, tea and coffee and a cooked breakfast of bacon, sausage, eggs and beans. On the staff day off, a continental style breakfast is laid out for you to help yourselves in all chalets.

Afternoon Tea – Every day, apart from our staff day off, a home-baked cake and tea and coffee making facilities are laid out for you to help yourself when you return from the slopes.

High Tea for all children under 11 is at 5.30pm. It is served as a 2 course healthy menu, tailored more towards children’s tastes and puréed food is available for infants.  Parents are asked to accompany their children under 3, whilst 3-10 years old are supervised by our childcare team.

Evening Meals –  Adult dinner is at 7.30pm comprises 3 courses including an appetiser, main dish and dessert. The meal is accompanied by a prosecco apéritif and a choice of red, rose and white wines, culminating with tea or coffee. A 3 course regional speciality menu is served as one of the 6 evening meals in chalets. This varies by country and the French menu includes charcuterie, goat’s cheese salad, tartiflette and tarte tatin, accompanied by the prosecco apéritif and choice of wines.

On Staff Night Off, you and your family have the opportunity to eat out in one of the local restaurants. Ask our staff for any recommendations.

Family Dining – Many parents prefer to enjoy adult-only company over dinner but if it’s important to you to eat dinner altogether as a family, we offer Family Dining when you book the entire chalet for exclusive use. Dinner is then served from 6.30pm with the menu based on our adult dishes with some flexibility for the children’s preferences. There is a supplement of £39 per child for Family Dining.
