London: Perfect for a Fun-Filled Family Trip
When thinking of places to visit with children, London may not be somewhere
that immediately springs to mind. However, with lots of
cheap flights available to the British
capital it can be an economical and exciting choice.
When you can find low cost flights, a
trip away as a family needn't be prohibitively expensive. Searching low cost
airlines for London
flights can be a good starting point when looking for a great deal.
Once you have your flights to London organised, you can start planning a
trip that the whole family will enjoy. This is one of the great things about
London. Many of its attractions can be enjoyed equally by visitors of all
ages, which make it a perfect family destination.
Family-friendly accommodation can sometimes be hard to find in cosmopolitan
cities. London, however, has such a variety of hotels it should be easy to
find one that suits your requirements.
The St James's Hotel and Club, near leafy St James's Park, is a great choice
for families as it offers adjoining rooms, suites and a kids' concierge to
help plan family-friendly days out. It is also located on a peaceful
cul-de-sac and near to a park and playground, so you should have no trouble
wearing them out if they have any energy left after a busy day.
The Premier Inn London Country Hall is another family friendly hotel in a
superb location right beside the London Eye and London Aquarium. It offers
everything you might need for a comfortable family stay, including cots,
pull-out beds and special children's menus.
If you're leaving the kids at home this time and visiting London as a couple
then why not take advantage and splash out on some really luxurious,
romantic accommodation. The Savoy, The Ritz and The Langham are just a few
of the first class hotels that London has to offer.
Or perhaps you are travelling to London with a group of friends? In that
case then you should consider renting a short stay apartment to enable your
group to stay together and provide a more sociable style of accommodation.
Short stay apartments are furnished with all home comforts and modern
conveniences and the use of a kitchen is often welcome.
The beauty of London is the ageless appeal of many of its attractions.
Children and adults alike will love taking a ride in a glass capsule on the
futuristic London Eye and visiting the nearby Sea Life London Aquarium.
Museums are often surprisingly great places to take children, especially as
many of them are free to enter.
When you're paying entry fees for a family of four or five, costs can soon
mount up, so it pays to try to find as many free things to do in the capital
as possible.
The Natural History Museum would be of particular interest to inquisitive
children, with its ever-popular giant dinosaur exhibition, as well as many
other interesting and breathtaking animal exhibitions.
Somewhere like the Tate Modern can also spark children's interest, while
providing adults with some interesting and stimulating food for thought.
Museums like the Tate often want to encourage families to visit and as such
will even run free activities for families to participate in. These can be a
particularly good option if the British weather is treating you to a wet or
windy stay.
A trip to the theatre is another treat for both adults and children, and
London offers a wide variety of family friendly shows. Billy Elliot, The
Wizard of Oz and the massively popular Wicked are all shows that can be
enjoyed by all ages. Meanwhile, Shrek the Musical is due to open at the
Royal Court Theatre Drury Lane on 6th May.
If theatre isn't your thing then why not try one of the cinemas on London's
Leicester Square? Perhaps the IMAX cinema, which offers an amazing high-tech
3D experience, will tickle your fancy?
Whatever you choose just don't forget the popcorn and ice creams or you are
sure to be unpopular with your companion whether they are six years-old or
60!
If you can find low cost flights to London then it can be a great
destination for a good value trip that the whole family can enjoy.
With museums, parks and playgrounds free to access, as well as many other
amazing value attractions to enjoy, a trip to London needn't be as expensive
as you might think.
